Mr. Christensen's Classroom

  Mr. Christensen's Classroom
I was born and raised in rural Sleepy Eye, MN. I attended St. John's (K-8) and graduated from Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School. I graduated in 2001 with a BS in Education from Martin Luther College (MLC), with an emphasis in English. In 2019, I completed my Master of Science in Education degree with Leadership Emphasis. I've enjoyed my professional experiences serving as a teacher in Florida (2000), Rochester, MN (2001-2017), and now in St. James (2017-present).

My wife, Katie, is also a Sleepy Eye native. She graduated from MLC and is a licensed teacher. We were married in 2000. She helped start the preschool in Rochester, was called as their first teacher and director, and served as the Early Childhood Ministry Coordinator. In St. James, she's a preschool teacher for the ECFE program and serves as St. Paul's Title One Instructor. Katie and I have three children: Olivia, Hannah and Levi. My hobbies include ice fishing, deer hunting, morel mushroom hunting, cheering on the MN Vikings, and watching my children use the athletic and musical talents that God has gifted them.

I truly appreciate the opportunity to work with such an exceptional staff and wonderful students whose hearts are focused on the love of Jesus! I also enjoy the overwhelming support received in Christian education from our parents, grandparents, and the St. James area community!
